Hello Everyone! Kenzo here. And welcome to the very first power rankings of the VFL! These will happen every week, we're kicking off things with the very first one! We got 32 teams, so let's rank them and recap!
1. United Flames (16-0)
The Flames capped off an amazing season finishing undefeated and winning their very first Virtual Bowl. Head Coach Sly Cooper, is looking to go back-to-back but with a lot of teams updating their rosters, the road might be tough.
2. Ponyville Broncos (15-1)
Just like the Flames, the Broncos had an amazing season. However they were shutout by the Flames. A very crushing loss for the them. However with a redemption on the mind for the Broncos, they're looking to avenge their Virtual Bowl Loss. With some changes on the offense and defense, Coach Twilight Sparkle is cooking up something with this team.
3. Empire Knights (15-1)
The Knights also finish with an impressive record just like the Broncos. With the controversal no PI call lingering in their minds, the Knights have nothing but revenge on their minds. Revamping their defense is the name of the game for them, It'll be interesting to see what happens for the Knights.
4. Kagutsuchi Snowhawks (15-1)
The Snowhawks much like Broncos and Knights, finish with a 15-1 record. Coming up just short in the Divisional Round, The Snowhawks are looking to change up the offense and defense. This might be a different team this season.
5. Chicago Talons (14-2)
The Talons might have a lot on their plate. A team with a lot of upside could make a bit of a rumble next season. Coach Fox McCloud has a few tricks next season that he wants to pull out.
6. Mobian Stars (12-4)
From starting out last in the division, to winning it. The Stars made a good turn around early into the season. It'll be very interested to see how Year 2 pans out for the stars, with defense being the main concern.
7. San Francisco Tridents (12-4)
Much like the Stars, the Tridents started out the season 1-4. However Rookie QB Tyler Diaz stepped up when it matter the most, and led the Tridents on a 11 game win streak to close out the season. It'll be interesting to see how they continue off this success.
8. Crystal Prep Shadowbolts (12-4)
A very successful season for the Shadowbolts. Not much can be said other than a few adjustments may be on the horizon for Crystal Prep. Sapphire Sweet is gonna have a lot of expectations from the fans next season.
9. Acmetropolis Rockets (11-5)
Impressive first season but with a lot of frustrations. Some games were winnable in the long run and the only thing fans can do is wait and see how next season will play out.
10. Tampa Bay Tigers (10-6)
If you want the definition of a sleeper team, this is it. Tampa Bay really were expected to not do well, but somehow managed to surprise a lot of people. A lot of eyes with be on Tampa this upcoming season.
11. Austin Enforcers (9-7)
Another surprise team here. The Austin Enforcers kinda benefitted having the cards fall in their favor. A playoff spot locked up in the first year, really does get people excited for the new season.
12. Philadelphia Griffons (8-8)
Being lucky must be something. Griffons really lucky they managed to not only win their last game, but have the wondercolts lose and get the last spot in the playoffs. but Jet Tempest is gonna have a lot to work on. Which I know is something Gilda is gonna do.
13. Canterlot Wondercolts (7-9)
Honestly, a lot of people were shocked by how fallen they went. Starting out 4-0 just to go on a massive losing streak, and had to basically win to get in and lost in the last game of the season. Mus really hurt. Silver Armor wants to redeem himself, and despite having a good rookie year, its gonna be a long road to get there.
14. Seattle Storm (7-9)
Another win and in situtation here. Seattle is very lucky of a fumble that sealed their victory. Otherwise you looking at elimination. Things are changing in seattle, and its happening fast.
15. Boston Rams (7-9)
No favors for the Rams this season. From blowing winnable games, to lose first place in the division. Nothing went right for them. QB is on their minds right now, and with their eyes set on Alex Anarchy from Tennesse, it might boost them a bit.
16. Pennslyvania Wildcats (7-9)
From leading to the division, to going last, just to finish second, is something. While finishing strong in conference play, they struggled a lot this season. A lot of changes are being made so fans hope that they'll stick to them.
17. New England Rebels (7-9)
A tough break from the Rebels. Not doing well in conference play to getting blown out in multiple games. Defense is the name of the game for Rebels this season.
18. Buffalo Beasts (7-9)
Losing your last three games is painful for any team trying to make a playoff run. But for Buffalo's case it was just being outmatched.
19. BlueCity Raiders (6-10)
A very hard season for the Raiders. Playing in the NFC North is no easy task with teams like the Talons and the Flames in the same division as you. But there is optimism in B.C. A look to strength up the offense in the draft might give them a boost.
20. St.Louis Hawks (6-10)
If certain things went the Hawks way, we could've been seeing them in the playoffs but losing very key games will make end your chances pretty quickly. With a strong foundation to boot, there's no telling what limit is.
21. Toronto Fire (6-10)
I think for the the fire, a change at quarterback might be what the solution is.
22. Indianapolis Spartans (5-11)
Man, heartbreak city with the way the Spartans played. You almost thought they looked like a playoff team in some games.
23. Cloudsdale Thunderbolts (5-11)
I don't think I've seen a team with so much hype, fall flat on their face. Yes, its Spitfire's first year as a coach, but you would think with the way Crimson Straous was hyped up, you think they would make the Virtual Bowl. Guess why you don't believe the hype sometimes.
24. Ohio Centurians (5-11)
I wanna give the Centurians credit, because the play on the field was decent, but when matched up with conference opponents, they looked so lost out there.
25. Brooklyn Beats (5-11)
A rough season for the Beats. Next year should be a turn around, but only time can tell.
26. Los Angles Horses (4-12)
Fans know how frustrating it was to watch the Horses this season, while it may be the first, a lot of changes are needed if improvements are wanted.
27. Knoxville Bears (4-12)
The Bears had it right, but with a battered offense and a defense that allowed a lot of yards, changes are need on both sides of the ball.
28. Georgia Hounds (4-12)
At one point, the hounds were winless on the season. But some how managed to rack up 4 wins on the year. Growing pains, if you wanna say.
29. Brooklyn Bulls (4-12)
Not much happened with the Bulls this season, but they do need some changes this offseason. Whatever those are, they better be important.
30. Miami Thunder (3-13)
It was not all sunshine down in Vice City. Miami plain and simple looked awful and at worse lost. Like they didn't belong on the field.
31. Inkopolis Sharks (3-13)
The Sharks a lot of promise, but after a while that faded and all that was left was a lot of disappointment. The team is hoping for a better season, next year.
32. Michigan Wolves (3-13)
You know, there's winning some games and there's whatever the wolves were doing. While some teams won one or two conferences games, the wolves lost every single one, while some were close, others were not. Things are gonna have to change soon in the motor city.
